Perfect timing! June averages 28–32°C with virtually zero rain. Sea temperature reaches 23–25°C — warm enough for long swims. Pack light clothing, sunscreen SPF 50+, and a hat.
Hit beaches before 10am or after 5pm to avoid peak heat and crowds. Weekdays at Akti Vouliagmeni are far less crowded than weekends. The lake is most peaceful 9–11am.
Greeks eat late — lunch from 2–4pm, dinner from 9pm onwards. Book fine dining restaurants (Ithaki, Blue Fish) well in advance. Meze-style dining means many shared plates — perfect for families!
Greece uses euros. Carry cash for smaller tavernas and beach bars. ATMs widely available. Budget roughly €50–80/adult for a beach day including food; fine dining runs €60–120/person.
Google Maps works perfectly. Download Google Translate for menus. Bolt and FreeNow for taxis. Book tours through Viator or GetYourGuide apps with free cancellation options.
The lake thermal waters stay 22–29°C year-round. Bring water shoes for rocky coves (Limanakia). The Aegean is very clear but can have sea urchins — shuffling feet while entering water is wise.
Reef-safe sunscreen, beach bag, water sandals, snorkel mask (optional), light linen layers for evenings, power adapter (Type C/F European), reusable water bottle. Greek tap water is safe to drink.
Settle in, get your bearings, and ease into Vouliagmeni life with an afternoon swim and sunset dinner.
